Welcome to South Baltic Programme 4th Newsflash!
 
Although summer is still in South Baltic region, most of us already have returned from holiday travels. Summer photographs bring back the best memories and those related to the Baltic region can still take part in our photo competition "Take a look at the Baltic Sea".
Do not miss one of the last opportunities to apply for the remaining funds under the 9th Call for Proposals. Project ideas, provided those are at the advance stage of development, can be still discussed during Open Consultation Days. Don’t miss the opportunity to discuss your proposal at the Secretariat or in Rostock this Thursday..
The South Baltic Programme Annual Event registration is still open. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so until end of September.  The South Baltic projects will provide you with interesting information and results you can make use of. You are welcome to read more …

You are warmly invited to the South Baltic Programme Annual Event! The agenda of the meeting, practical information and link to the registration form can be found HERE. Open Consultation Day in Rostock and Gdansk
 
Joint Technical Secretariat and Regional Contact Points of the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 announce the Open Consultation Days for potential applicants planning to apply under the 9th Call for Proposals of the South Baltic Programme.
In August we carried out consultations meetings in Lithuania and Sweden, and now, on the 6th of September we are inviting you to Rostock / Germany. The individual project consultations are possible also at JTS Gdansk office. Such appointments need to be booked in advance at +48 58 761 00 30, email: southbaltic@southbaltic.eu and depends on the JTS staff availability.

Take a look at the Baltic Sea. Photo Competition!
 
There are many great pictures taking part in our 'Take a look at the Baltic Sea’ photo competition. If you haven’t uploaded your photo do it quickly and get a chance to win a red Canon IXUS 220 digital camera. The competition is open till 16 September 2012. Winners will be announced on European Co-operation Day (21 September 2012).

The 9th Call for Proposals is opened!
 
The 9th Call for Proposals is opened from 13 August 2012 till 28 September 2012.
The current call is opened for the project ideas within Measure 2.4 (Local community initiatives) only.

The South Baltic Communication and Information Manager, Agnieszka Błażewicz unfortunately decided to leave JTS. On behalf of the Programme the JTS Team would like to thank Agnieszka for her commitment , innovative ideas, new solutions in regard to the Programme promotion. Thank you for the  support given to daily activities of JTS members and beneficiaries of the South Baltic Programme. We wish you new challenges and successful continuation of your career. Summer 2012 sees INTERFACE return with another major output – www.portlink.eu - the new online information portal for foot passengers in the South Baltic Area. Port > Link informs foot passengers e.g. with maps of the port areas and footpaths between terminal, gates and railway / bus stations along with links to schedules of public transport providers.

Take part in the European Co-operation Day 2012
 
To raise awareness and improve understanding of European Territorial Co-operation, highlighting its added value and impact on the European territories and their populations, INTERACT is organising a joint communication initiative in conjunction with all interested ETC programmes on 21 September 2012. The South Baltic Programme will participate in this initiative.

Offshore wind energy - prospects of Polish-German co-operation
 
The conference is being organized by the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and
Commerce in co-operation with the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Society and will take
place in Sopot on 12 September 2012.
List of invited speakers and guests includes representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy as well as enterprises and sector institutions from Poland and Germany, directly involved into development of the offshore wind farms.

20th BSSSC Annual Conference, 17-20 September 2012, Lillestrom, Norway
 
The topic of the conference will be on moving towards a more sustainable Baltic Sea Region – focusing especially on green energy and clean water. The conference will offer plenary sessions with interesting intervention and discussions, parallel sessions sharing knowledge and best praxis and good networking opportunities. A project exhibition is planned for the whole period.

CLEANSHIP Midterm Conference in Riga, 19-10 September
 
CLEANSHIP Midterm Conference encourages the involvement of all environmentally concerned shipping branch organizations, port authorities and stakeholders in shipping.
This conference will present a number of new and revolutionary solutions, fulfilling the new SECA directives for the Baltic Sea, and inform about a number of voluntarily created new Clean Shipping initiatives, designed and tested by fuel and ship engine producers, together with ship owners, port designers, and national and local authorities.
To find clean and cost-effective energy solutions for shipping is today a true main shipping branch concern. The project partners will display efforts in this field together with a number of well known technical experts and we will jointly share each other’s experiences.
