The South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 is excited to launch the first issue of Newsflash, its e-newsletter. We hope that Newsflash gives an opportunity to get even more familiar with the Programme in an interesting and colorful way. South Baltic Newsflash is dedicated to people interested and involved in activities in South Baltic Sea Region however please do not hesitate to distribute it to your friends and colleagues.

The 9th Call for Proposals!
The 9th Call for Proposals will be opened: 13 August - 28 September 2012. The call is open for projects in Measure 2.4 (Local community initiatives) only, with up to 1,3 mln Euro available. READ MORE »

The Lead Beneficiary Seminar, 26-27 June 2012
The Lead Beneficiary Seminar for projects approved under the 8th Call for proposal will be held on 26-27 June in Gdańsk (Poland). This intensive two-day meeting is addressed to the representatives of the Lead Beneficiary organisations or externally contracted agencies who will be responsible for the management of the South Baltic Programme’s projects approved under the 8th Call for proposal. READ MORE »

Visit Kalmar/Norlidden (Sweden) and see, touch and test the “Windfinger”! The "Windfinger", chosen by the international jury out of 16 proposals submitted by artist teams from Poland, Sweden and Germany was recommended to be installed in Kalmar. Windfinger is part of WEBSR2 Upgrade Project. READ MORE »
ArtLine Project is inviting for Telling the Baltic...
9 June - 16 September, Blekinge Museum, Karlskrona. Telling the Baltic is a collaborative storytelling project. The Baltic Sea has many stories to tell. Stories have been sought from fishermen, lighthouse keepers, ship mechanics, ferry personnel, sailors, islanders and dockers. READ MORE » 
The second WindArt object nominated during an international contest in the South Baltic project "WEBSR2 Upgrade" will be installed in Rostock in June 2012 - the object "in transition" created by the Swedish art team Gora.The object has a total height of 4.5 metres and a top part that changes its colour and shape.
The opening ceremony will be a part of the annual yard party of the FRIEDA 23 that invites people to come and to celebrate in the end of the term. READ MORE »
InterLoc Project
For the latest 10 months the project InterLoc has worked towards the aim to make cross border co-operation between small and medium sized municipalities in the South Baltic area a natural element in the daily work. One way of reaching this goal is to develop a model for internationalization. In the end of June Project is having a combined study visit/work meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden. At this gathering they are taking part of the organization West Sweden’s experience of internationalization and then they will finish the final toolbox draft. 1st DesignSHIP Training Session is behind  
On 16-18th April, 30 students, graduates and young professionals from the fields of design, technology and business participated in the 1st training session of the DesignSHIP project. Three days of lectures and workshops were hosted by Wismar University of Applied Sciences, and covered solving the real life issues that n2telligence,a German company, has been facing on a daily basis. The core area of the company activity is production of a fuel cell which gives heat, air conditioning and electricity through reduced oxygen generation thus giving an unbeatable, low-cost, ecological fire protection system. The participants’ tasks was to critically evaluate the functioning of n2telligence in the light of Business, Design and Technology all at once and to think of solutions. READ MORE »

Take part in the European Cooperation Day 2012
In order to raise awareness and improve understanding of the European Territorial Cooperation, highlightits added value and impact on the European territories and their populations, INTERACT, in conjunction with all interested ETC programmes is organising a joint communication initiative on 21 September 2012. Join us during Folkemödet!
Join us during Folkemödet, which is an annual national political festival on Bornholm with 20 000 visitors expected during the festival from 14 - 17 June. This includes most of the ministers from the Danish national government, most of the MP’s, and MEP’s, the Danish EU Commissioner Connie Hedegaard, most of the Danish mayors, hundreds of journalists including all the main national media, all the main business and labour market organizations, NGO’s and many more. EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Annual Forum 2012 in Copenhagen
The 14th Baltic Development Forum Summit will be arranged jointly with the 3rd Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and take place in Copenhagen 18 - 19 June 2012 under the auspices of the Danish Presidency of the EU Council. The headline for this year’s event is Public-private co-operation for a smart and green infrastructure in the Baltic Sea Region. READ MORE »
