Eligibility assessment

See Formal assessment.

ERDF

The ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) is one of the EU Structural Funds which  focuses on promoting public and private investments helping to reduce regional disparities across the Union. It supports programmes addressing regional development, economic change, enhanced competitiveness and territorial cooperation. Funding priorities include research, innovation, environmental protection and risk prevention. The South Baltic Programme is co-financed from the ERDF. The other part of the Programme budget is the own financial resources of participating partners.

ERDF co-financing rate

ERDF co-financing rate for Polish, Lithuanian and German partners may reach up to 85% of the eligible project costs, while for Swedish and Danish partners the ERDF funding is up to 75% of the eligible project costs. However, a maximum ERDF contribution awarded per project will be an average rate and will be indicated in the Subsidy contract. Even if the reported expenditure of the operation will be higher, the ERDF amount will not be increased.

ERDF Regulation

Regulation (EC) No 1080/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 July 2006 on the European Regional Development Fund and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1783/199. The regulation presents the framework for the ERDF functioning.

Equipment

The project equipment is defined as a tool or device, purchased by a project partner or already in its possession and used to carry out project activities. Equipment most usually refers to such items as IT equipment (computer, printer, notebooks) which are necessary for project implementation/coordination and for financial management purposes. If the equipment is not exclusively used for project purposes and/or the depreciation period is longer than the project period, only a share of the actual cost can be eligible. For more information see Programme Manual, Chapter 6.2.
