Get smarter together in the Baltic Sea Region – taking innovation and smart specialisation across borders
Two events to learn from experiences and find strategic partners for the future: 6th and 7th November 2013, Malmö, Sweden.

Smart combinations of competencies and funding opportunities are keys to success when it comes to innovation. The growth and attractiveness of cities, regions, nations and macro-regions are dependent on their ability to identify their strength and link it to other strong actors and regions.

On 7th November 2013, Region Skåne together with the European Smart Specialisation platform and the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems will organise an event to find cooperation partners and exploit the synergies between the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the Regional Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation in the same area.  The event will offer concrete opportunities to add a cross-border dimension to the development of Smart Specialisation by matching interesting partner regions with the aim at achieving something that they cannot do on their own. Matchmaking will be concentrated around identified common topics, for example Personal Health and Sustainable Cities.

A preceding event on the 6th November will share results from StarDust - an umbrella project consisting of five transnational sub-projects which operate in the fields of clean technology & future energy, wellbeing & health, future transport, and digital business & services.

Both events aim at gathering innovative companies, clusters, universities, innovation agencies and other actors involved in development and implementation of Smart Specialisation Strategies around the Baltic Sea.
