Mayor Piotr Krzystek of Szczecin to speak at the South Baltic Annual Conference 2013

Piotr Krzystek will be representing the host city of Szczecin in the panel session “The added value of cross-border co-operation for the local community development around the South Baltic”. This is one of two political panel discussions to reflect on the need for joint efforts across borders to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in the South Baltic region.

Piotr Krzystek has been serving as the Mayor of Szczecin since 2006. From 1999 until 2002, he was Director General of the Westpomeranian Voivodeship Office.

He has initiated a number of urban-planning projects launching also the process of designing and implementing the long-term brand-management strategy Szczecin Floating Garden 2050.

During his terms, Szczecin is more frequently and resolutely turning towards the sea being also affiliated with the world’s largest tall-ships regatta.
